🌐 What is RaguDave?

RaguDave is a universal personal profile platform. You enter your information once — professional background, food preferences, travel choices, social links, talents, and more — and a unique handle (like @yourname1234) is generated for you.

That handle can then be used by any person, app, or AI system to retrieve exactly the information they need — without you filling out the same forms over and over again.

🚀 Getting Started

1. Create your account Go to ragudave.com and click Get Started Free. Sign up with your email. A unique handle (e.g. @yourname4821) and RaguDave ID are created automatically.
2. Fill in your Identity section Open the dashboard. Your handle is shown in the top card. Add your display name, tagline, profile photo, and a short bio in the Identity & Handle section.
3. Complete your profile sections Use the left sidebar to navigate to each section — Personal Info, Professional, Food & Preferences, etc. Fill in as much or as little as you like. Each section you complete increases your profile completion score.
4. Save your changes Click the 💾 Save button in the bottom bar whenever you want to save. Changes are not auto-saved.
5. Share your handle or profile Copy your handle, download your QR code, or create a scoped share link from the Resume / Share Links section. Your public profile is at ragudave.com/p/yourhandle.

Here's how most users interact with RaguDave day-to-day:

🪪 Identity & Handle

This is the first section in your dashboard and the foundation of your RaguDave profile.

Your Handle

Your handle (e.g. @yourname4821) is permanently assigned when you sign up. It appears in your public profile URL, your API endpoints, and your QR code. It cannot be changed.

Your RaguDave ID

A unique alphanumeric identifier (e.g. RD-A1B2C3D4E5) that serves as a secondary reference to your profile. You can share either the handle or the RaguDave ID.

Fields in this section

• Display Name — the name shown on your public profile and resumes.
• Tagline — a short one-liner that appears beneath your name.
• Bio — a free-text paragraph about yourself.
• Profile Photo — upload a headshot. Shown on your public profile.
• Current Title & Company — used prominently on resumes and AI-generated content.
• Industry & Years of Experience — help AI tools contextualise your background.

Handle actions (top card)

• 📋 Copy Handle — copies your handle URL to clipboard.
• ⬇️ QR Code — downloads a QR code image linking to your public profile.
• 🌐 View Profile — opens your public profile in a new tab.

Profile completion score

The progress bar beneath your handle shows how complete your profile is. A higher completion score means better AI output quality and more informative public profiles.

👤 Personal Info

Contact and demographic information. Most of this is private by default and not shown on your public profile unless you explicitly toggle it on in Privacy Settings, or share it via a Resume or Full Profile share link.

• Location & Country
• Date of Birth, Gender, Pronouns
• Cover Photo — banner image for your public profile

💼 Professional

The most important section for career-related use cases. Used heavily by the Resume Generator and AI tools.

Work History

Add each position with company, job title, start date, end date, and a description of your responsibilities and achievements. Use bullet points or sentences — the AI resume generator will rewrite them in professional language.

Education

Degrees, institutions, graduation years, and fields of study. Research positions are also tracked separately.

Skills

Add skills one at a time or import them from your resume. You can group skills by category (e.g. Programming Languages, Frameworks, Tools). On resumes, skills are displayed grouped by category.

Certifications

Professional certifications with issuer, date, and optional credential URL.

Languages

Languages you speak and proficiency level.

Research & Projects

Academic research and personal/professional projects. Imported automatically when you use the Resume Import feature.

🍽️ Lifestyle Sections

These sections allow third-party apps and AI systems to retrieve preference data without you having to fill out forms each time.

Food & Preferences

• Meal Preferences — vegetarian, vegan, halal, kosher, etc.
• Dietary Restrictions — specific restrictions (gluten-free, dairy-free…)
• Food Allergies — nuts, shellfish, etc.
• Favourite Cuisines — Italian, Japanese, Mexican…

Accessible via the API at /api/handle/:handle/preferences. An airline, restaurant, or catering app can query this endpoint to serve you the right meal automatically.

Sports & Teams

• Favourite Sports Teams — team name, sport, and league.
• Sports Played — sports you actively participate in.

Social Media

Links to your profiles on LinkedIn, GitHub, Twitter/X, Instagram, YouTube, and other platforms. Accessible via the /api/handle/:handle/social endpoint.

🎤 Showcase Sections

Talents & Videos

Showcase your talents — singing, public speaking, sports, coding, art — with a title, description, and a video URL (YouTube, Vimeo, etc.) or a short uploaded clip. These appear on your public profile for anyone who visits it.

Activities & Interests

Recent activities, hobbies, interests, and causes you care about. Helps AI tools write richer bios and summaries.

Shopping Profile

Clothing sizes and shopping preferences. Intended for retail apps and personalised shopping experiences that can use your handle to pre-fill size and preference data.

📄 Resume Generator

The Resume Generator is in the right panel of your dashboard. It builds a professional resume from your profile data.

Controls

• Enhance writing with AI — when on, the AI rewrites your work history into polished, ATS-friendly bullet points using strong action verbs. Requires a Pro subscription (or your own API key). The Generate button changes to "Generate AI-Enhanced Word/PDF"; leave it off and it reads "Generate Word/PDF from Original Content" instead. AI wording for a given Target Role is generated once and reused automatically on every later download — it only regenerates if you change the Target Role or edit your profile since the wording was last generated. Your checkbox choice is remembered across visits, and unchecking it also clears the Target Role field.
• Target Role — enter the job title you're applying for. The AI tailors the language to that role.
• Template — choose a resume layout. 5 templates are free: Classic, Modern, Minimal, Sidebar, Executive. 7 more are Pro-only: Vivid, Slate, Professional, Elegant, Elegant Mono, Graphic, Pinnacle.
• Download DOCX — generates a Word document. Free users get 3 downloads per month; Pro users get unlimited.
• Download PDF — generates a styled PDF. Free users get 3 downloads per month (original wording only, free templates only); Pro users get unlimited downloads, all templates, and AI Enhanced.
• Download Saved {Word/PDF} (in the collapsible "Saved Resume" section) — lock in one exact format + template + AI choice, and the exact AI wording you approved, as your saved resume, then re-download that identical version any time with one click — no reconfiguring, no extra AI cost, and unaffected by any wording later regenerated in the main panel above.
• 🔍 Verify Resume — a free, instant check of your profile for missing fields, empty descriptions, unquantified bullets, and common resume mistakes before you generate. Available to everyone at no cost. Pro accounts (or a personal API key) additionally get a short AI-powered pass for subtler wording and clarity issues.

Saved Resume

The collapsible "Saved Resume" box sits just under the Generate buttons — click the ? next to the heading any time for a quick reminder of what it does. Use this option only to save the best resume you've generated and re-download that exact version later — it's not a second way to generate a resume. It stays disabled until you've generated at least one resume, so there's nothing to manage yet on a brand-new account.

• Set this as my preferred resume — locks in your current format, template, AI wording choice, and accent color as your one saved resume.
• Download Saved {Word/PDF} — re-downloads that exact locked-in version any time, with no reconfiguring. This still counts against your monthly free-tier download limit (see below) — it shares the same 3/month DOCX and 3/month PDF pools as the main Generate buttons, since it produces a real file each time, not a cached copy.
• Download using a different template — check this box and pick a template from the dropdown to download your saved resume in a different layout just this once, without changing your saved settings or spending an AI call. It's free every time.

Resume templates

12 templates in total — 5 free, 7 Pro-only. Free-tier PDF downloads always use the original (non-AI) wording; Pro unlocks every template for both DOCX and PDF, plus AI Enhanced wording.

Keyword targeting for job applications

Use the Target Role field to enter the exact job title you're applying for (e.g. "Senior Product Manager at Stripe"). The AI reads the role and automatically:

• Surfaces and emphasises skills and experience most relevant to that role.
• Weaves in the keywords and phrases that ATS (applicant tracking systems) scan for.
• Reframes your achievements in language that resonates with hiring managers in that field.

You don't edit or rearrange your profile for each application — just change the Target Role and regenerate. The same profile produces a different, appropriately tailored resume every time.

📥 Import Resume

Already have a resume? Use Import Resume (found on the Professional page, alongside Verify Resume and Polish with AI) to auto-populate your profile from an existing PDF or DOCX file.

How to use it

1. Click "Import Resume"On the Professional page, click the Import Resume button to open the import modal.
2. Upload your fileSelect a PDF or DOCX resume file from your computer.
3. Review and confirmThe parsed data is shown before it's applied. Confirm to merge it into your profile.
4. Save your profileClick 💾 Save in the bottom bar to persist the imported data.

🤖 AI Tools PRO

Pro subscribers get access to AI-powered tools that generate professional content from your profile data. All tools use Claude or OpenAI models and count toward your 100 AI calls/month allowance.

AI call counter

Pro accounts have a limit of 100 AI calls per month. The counter resets on the 1st of each month. You can see your remaining calls in the dashboard right panel. To use more, you can bring your own API key.

Bring Your Own API Key PRO

Requires a Pro or Enterprise account. In API & Integration → Claude API Key or OpenAI API Key, you can add your own key from Anthropic or OpenAI. When a key is saved, AI tools use your key only. You pay only for what you use at provider rates, with no monthly call cap from RaguDave.

🌐 Public Profile

Every RaguDave user gets a public profile page at:

This page shows all the fields you've marked as public in Privacy Settings. By default, your professional information (name, title, bio, skills, work history, education, social links) is public, while personal contact details (phone, email, address) are private.

Private Profile Mode

In Privacy Settings, you can enable Private Profile Mode. When on, /p/yourhandle shows a "This profile is private" page instead of your profile. Anyone who has a share link from you can still access your profile — only the direct public URL is blocked.

🔗 Share Links

Share Links let you share a controlled, scoped view of your profile with specific people or applications. Each link has a unique token, an optional expiry, and can be revoked at any time.

How to create a share link

1. Go to Resume / Share LinksClick "Resume / Share Links" in the left sidebar of your dashboard.
2. Click "+ Create Share Link" or "📄 Resume Link"Use the Resume Link shortcut to pre-select the Resume scope, or create a custom link manually.
3. Set a labelGive the link a name so you can identify it later (e.g. "Google Interview", "Delta Airlines").
4. Choose a scopeSelect what data the link exposes (see scope table below).
5. Set expiryChoose Never, 1 hour, 24 hours, 7 days, or 30 days.
6. Copy the linkShare it with whoever needs it. The link is at ragudave.com/s/token.

Share link scopes

AI Resume per share link

For Resume, Job Application, and Professional scope links, you can generate an AI-enhanced resume that is stored directly on that share link. When an employer opens the link, they see the AI-polished version — stronger bullet points, better language, ATS-optimised — without knowing it was enhanced. To generate it, click 🤖 Generate AI Resume on any eligible link card.

Cover Letter per share link

Any active share link can have a cover letter attached. Click ✉️ Generate Cover Letter on a link card to have the AI write a concise, targeted 3-paragraph cover letter (~250 words). The employer opens the link and sees a Cover Letter tab first, followed by the Resume tab. You can also edit the generated letter directly in the dashboard before sharing.

What employers see

When an employer opens a share link they see:

• Your @handle in the contact bar — clicking it opens your public profile page.
• A 🤖 API endpoint chip in the header — employers or ATS systems can use /api/handle/yourhandle to query your profile programmatically for automated scoring or analysis.
• Cover Letter tab first (if attached), then Resume tab.
• Download buttons for PDF and Word resume (Resume / Professional / Job Application scope only).

Managing share links

All created links appear as cards in the Resume / Share Links section of the dashboard. Each card shows the label, scope, expiry, number of views, and last accessed time. You can revoke (disable) a link without deleting it, or delete it permanently.

🔒 Privacy Controls

Per-field privacy toggles

In Privacy Settings, every field in your profile has a toggle (on = public, off = private). Toggle entire groups on/off with the "All on/off" button next to each category.

Private fields are excluded from your public profile page and the general API response. They are only included in share links whose scope explicitly covers that data (e.g. Resume scope includes contact details).

Private Profile Mode

A master toggle at the top of Privacy Settings. When enabled:

• Your /p/yourhandle URL shows a "private" page instead of your profile.
• The public API endpoint /api/handle/yourhandle still works as normal.
• Share links still work for anyone you've given them to.

🤖 API & LLM Integration

RaguDave exposes a public read API for every handle. These endpoints require no authentication and return JSON. Use them in AI prompts, apps, or automations.

Public API endpoints

Returns the full public profile as JSON — all fields marked as public.

Returns a plain-text resume. Ideal for pasting into AI prompts. Omit ?format=text for JSON.

Returns meal preferences, dietary restrictions, and food allergies as JSON.

Returns social media links as JSON.

Returns a QR code PNG image linking to the public profile.

Adding your own API keys PRO

Requires a Pro or Enterprise account. Go to API & Integration in the dashboard sidebar. You can save a Claude (Anthropic) or OpenAI API key. When saved, all AI features use your key directly — bypassing the shared monthly allowance.

📱 QR Code

Every RaguDave handle has an automatically generated QR code that links to your public profile at /p/yourhandle.

• Download: Click "⬇️ QR Code" in the top handle card to download a PNG.
• Use cases: Print it on business cards, add it to presentations, display it at events.
• API: Embed the QR code in any webpage: <img src="ragudave.com/api/handle/yourhandle/qr">

🎯 RaguDave ATS — For Employers

RaguDave ATS is the employer-facing side of RaguDave — a separate account system with its own sign-up, at ragudave.com/ats. It's for companies who want to post jobs, receive candidate applications built on RaguDave's share-link resumes, and review them ranked by fit.

Accounts, roles & seats

An employer account is not the same login as a candidate RaguDave account. Team members have one of three roles:

• Owner — full control, including billing and removing anyone. There's exactly one: whoever signs up first.
• Admin — create/edit jobs, invite and remove recruiters, manage applications. Cannot touch billing or remove the owner.
• Recruiter — view jobs and manage applications (status changes, notes). Cannot create jobs or manage the team.

Seat count is limited by plan tier — Owners and Admins invite teammates by email from the dashboard.

Posting a job

From the ATS dashboard, create a job with a title, full description/requirements, department, location, employment type, and whether a cover letter is required. Every job automatically gets:

and an embeddable "Apply with RaguDave" button (an HTML snippet) that points to the same link. Paste the plain link into Indeed's "apply on company site" field, or the embed code onto your own careers page — the job doesn't need to be listed on RaguDave itself for this to work. Wherever a candidate clicks Apply, it resolves back to RaguDave so the application lands in your dashboard.

Reviewing applicants

Every application gets an instant, free rule-based fit score — a keyword/skill overlap between the job description and the candidate's skills and work history — visible the moment someone applies, on every plan.

Pro and Enterprise plans add AI ranking: click "Rank with AI" on a job's applicant list to get an AI-generated fit score, strengths, and gaps for each candidate. This runs on demand, not automatically per application — only unscored applicants are scored (use "Re-score all" to force a fresh pass, e.g. after editing the job description), so AI cost stays predictable and under your control. The applicant list sorts by AI score when available, falling back to the rule-based score otherwise.

Click any applicant to see their submitted resume and cover letter (captured at the moment they applied — it won't change later if they edit their profile), set a status (New, Reviewed, Shortlisted, Interview, Offer, Rejected), and add internal notes.

📮 Applying with RaguDave

If you find a job with an "Apply with RaguDave" button or link — on RaguDave itself, on Indeed, or on a company's own careers page — applying uses your existing RaguDave profile instead of re-typing an application by hand.

1. Open the apply link. Sign in to your RaguDave account (or create one, if you don't have one yet).
2. Pick one of your existing share links to apply with, or create a new one right there.
3. Add a cover letter if the employer requires one.
4. Submit. You'll see an estimate of how well your profile matches the role's listed requirements — this is automated and separate from the employer's own review.

The employer sees a snapshot of your resume and cover letter as they were at the moment you applied. If you apply to the same job again later, it updates your existing application rather than creating a second one.

💳 Free vs Pro Features

RaguDave is free to use — every profile feature, all share link scopes, and the public API are included at no cost. Pro ($10/mo or $90/yr) removes download limits, unlocks every resume template, and unlocks AI-powered writing tools. This table is the single reference for what's free and what needs Pro, since the features are spread across several pages.

Notes: DOCX and PDF free downloads are separate pools of 3/month each (6 total resume downloads/month on Free), reset on the 1st. Free-tier PDF/DOCX downloads always use your original wording and one of the 5 free templates — AI Enhanced wording and the 7 Pro-only templates require Pro. Bring Your Own API Key is itself a Pro feature: it removes the shared 100/month AI-call cap for a Pro or Enterprise account, but does not raise the free-tier DOCX/PDF download quotas on a Free account. Whenever a Free account clicks a Pro-only feature, RaguDave shows an upgrade prompt and a link to the Upgrade page rather than blocking silently.

❓ Frequently Asked Questions

Can I change my handle?

No. Your handle is permanently assigned at sign-up to ensure existing links, QR codes, and API integrations don't break. Choose your display name to be whatever you like — it's shown everywhere your handle appears.

Is my data safe?

Yes. Your private fields are never exposed to the public. Contact details (phone, email, address) are excluded from all public-facing endpoints. They only appear in Resume scope share links that you explicitly create.

What happens when a share link expires?

The link URL returns a "link expired or revoked" message. The recipient can no longer access your profile through that link. You can create a new link at any time.

How do I cancel my Pro subscription?

Go to API & Integration in the dashboard → click Manage Billing. This takes you to the Stripe billing portal where you can cancel or change your plan. You retain Pro access until the end of your current billing period.

Can I use my own Claude or OpenAI key?

Yes, on a Pro or Enterprise account. Go to API & Integration → save your API key. All AI features will then use your key at provider rates, with no monthly call cap from RaguDave.

What file formats does resume import support?

PDF and DOCX. The parser extracts work history, education, skills, certifications, research, and projects automatically. Results are best with cleanly formatted resumes.

How many share links can I create?

There is no hard limit on share links. Create one per use case (one for each employer, one for your airline loyalty programme, etc.). You can revoke or delete them individually at any time.

Can I attach a cover letter to a share link?

Yes — any active share link supports a cover letter. Go to Resume / Share Links in the dashboard sidebar, find the link card, and click ✉️ Generate Cover Letter. The AI writes a concise 3-paragraph letter (~250 words) targeted to the role and company you've set. You can edit it in-place and save. When the employer opens the link they'll see a Cover Letter tab first.

Does the employer know the resume or cover letter was AI-generated?

No. The share page shows a clean, professional document without any AI disclosure. This is no different from hiring a professional resume writer — the quality is what matters, not the tool used to produce it.

What's the difference between Bio/Intro and Background Check scopes?

Bio / Intro shares only your name, title, bio, industry, and social links — ideal for introductions, speaker profiles, or social reference. Background Check adds your full work history, education, and certifications but deliberately excludes contact details — suitable for verification requests or recruiter pre-screening.

Is there a mobile app?

Not yet. The dashboard is fully responsive and works well on mobile browsers.

Can businesses query my handle?

Yes — via the public API endpoints. Any application or AI system can read your public profile data without authentication. You control what's public via Privacy Settings.
